Logotype
Citizen Records Logotype 2011
Designed by Howard Wakefield
Studio Parris Wakefield were inspired by Citizen Records’ motto of ‘Fresh Blood Only’ and the label being regarded as a ‘musical laboratory’ to create a striking logotype using a slightly redrawn version of the font ‘Nova’ by Lux. SPW created an accompanying ‘ctz’ marque where the repetition of the letter forms is not only suggestive of sound but an apparent speaker is formed by the ‘c’. The predominantly monochromatic colour scheme is punctuated by red which appears as a keyline around the logotype where it subtly glows like neon.
The new logo has just been completed and is expected to be launched in April 2011.
