About Alfredo Häberli's curtain and upholstery collection
Kvadrat has worked with the Argentine-Swiss designer Alfredo Häberli since he designed Kvadrat’s new showroom in Milan with the theme A Breeze of Fabrics in 2007, for which textiles were used as walls and room dividers in unorthodox and unique layered constructions. Since the opening of the Milan showroom, Alfredo Häberli has worked on a textile collection for Kvadrat. This is the first time the versatile designer has worked with textile design and Häberli’s natural flair for innovation and creativity has made the creation of the collection a playful game of ideas, figures and colours that are entirely new to Kvadrat’s collection.
”Ever since I started working with design, I have known and admired Kvadrat’s products. When I first had to design a restaurant in Zurich at the start of my career I chose Divina for all the furniture because the colours were so fantastic. I became interested in textile as a design area and I slowly began to consider creating textiles myself. During the process of designing Kvadrat’s showroom, which consists almost exclusively of fabric, I was inspired by the versatility of the textiles and was extremely happy when I was asked to create a collection for Kvadrat,” explains Alfredo Häberli about his debut as textile designer.
Alfredo Häberli’s collection consists of three curtain and two upholstery fabrics.
