Creative Director, Howard Wakefield worked with Peter Saville at Pentagram Design during the early 90s. After a year at Thomas Manss & Company,
Peter Saville asked him to work with him again, becoming company director in 2002.
He has worked on music packaging for Gay Dad, Goldie, Joy Division, New Order, Pulp and Suede. His understanding of Luxury brands come from
having worked on projects for Christian Dior, Holland & Holland, Jil Sander and Vivienne Westwood, Mandarina Duck, Pringle of Scotland and Givenchy. For these clients a range of communications was designed from the identities to packaging and press advertising. Global brands face the problem of consistency, Howard's work with EMI solved this issue for them and led to a new understanding of the company's internal communications structure.
He is currently working with Kvadrat, the leading Danish textile company, responsible for the complete identity system from thelogo to advertising,
web site and all printed materials. He has produced communications for the launch of collections and products with renowned designers such as
Alfredo Häbeli Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec and
Tord Boontje.
Design Director, Simon Griffin joined Neville Brody
at Research Studios in 1994, in 1998 he joined
Dolphin and subsequently worked as a freelance
design director for a variety of renowned London
design studios. He became Design Director of SPW
in September 2009.
His work includes retail projects for Virgin
Megastores, BP, HSBC, Motorola, Nike and Speedo.
In travel and tourism he has created identity and
print communications for luxury boutique hotels and
Airlines. He has designed several event campaigns
including Creamfields and Resolution. His enthusiasm
and attention to detail is reflected in all his work from
on screen information graphics system for CNN to
uniform designs for F1 Williams BMW. He is currently
working with Rick Stein repackaging his deli range
and printed communications for his restaurants
and hotels.
Senior Designer, Maria Farrugia graduated from
University of Wales, Newport in 2005. After having
a successful work experience period with SPW, she
became a member of the team upon graduating.
She assists in the design process on all the studio's
projects and in particular Maria has taken on the
responsibility for Kvadrat's advertising schedule
including artwork, organising proofs and delivery.
She is also responsible for the content management
of SPW's website.
Project Manager, Sarah Parris began as studio manager in 2000 and became company director in 2002. She has co-ordinated design projects for music, fashion and corporate clients. She oversees all aspects of a project from initial proposal, liaising with third party creatives, delivery of artwork through to print management. She has also created images for La Ga bag for Krv Kurva, these limited edition bags have been exhibited in the Mudam Museum in Luxembourg and the NYC bag was launched at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair 2008 in New York.
